Greedy Giraffe's Long Lesson

Once upon a time, in a sunny savanna, there lived a tall giraffe named Greedy. Greedy loved to eat leaves, all day long. He never shared with other animals. One day, Greedy saw the yummiest leaves at the top of a tree. He stretched and stretched his long neck. But the leaves were too high! "Help, please?" asked Greedy to his friends. "Sorry, Greedy," they said. "You never share with us." Greedy felt sad. He learned that being kind is important. "I'll share from now on," Greedy promised. His friends smiled and helped him reach the leaves.

Greedy's Big Mistake

In the sunny savanna, Greedy Giraffe stood tall. His long neck reached high, and his spots shone in the sun. Greedy loved to eat leaves. He ate and ate all day long. The savanna had many tall trees with green leaves. Greedy walked from tree to tree, munching happily. But Greedy never shared. Elephant with his big trunk asked, "Can I have some leaves?" Greedy said, "No, they're all mine!" Zebra with stripes asked, "Please share some leaves?" Greedy said, "No, I want them all!" Monkey with his long tail asked, "Just a few leaves?" Greedy said, "No, go find your own!" The animals looked sad. Their tummies were empty. Then, Greedy saw the yummiest leaves ever! They were at the top of a very tall tree. Greedy's eyes grew big. He wanted those leaves so much!

Friends Say No

Greedy stretched his long neck. He reached and reached, but the yummy leaves were too high. Greedy felt sad. "Elephant, please help me!" Greedy called. Big gray Elephant with his long trunk said, "No, Greedy. You never share." "Zebra, can you help?" Greedy asked. Black and white striped Zebra shook his head. "No, Greedy. You always say no to us." "Monkey, please?" Greedy begged. Long-tailed Monkey frowned. "No, Greedy. You eat all the leaves yourself." Greedy's face drooped. He looked at his friends. Their faces were not happy. Greedy felt very sad. "I'm sorry," Greedy said softly. "I was wrong not to share." Elephant, Zebra, and Monkey looked at Greedy. They saw his sad face. Maybe Greedy was learning to be kind. Greedy's tummy rumbled. He was hungry, but the yummy leaves were still too high. What could he do now?

Greedy looked at his friends. His face was sad. He thought about how he never shared. "I'm sorry," Greedy said. "I promise to share from now on." Elephant, Zebra, and Monkey smiled. They decided to help Greedy. Elephant lifted Greedy with his big trunk. Zebra pushed Greedy's legs up. Monkey climbed the tree to reach the leaves. Up, up, up went Greedy! He stretched his long neck. Finally, he reached the yummy leaves! "Thank you, friends!" Greedy said. He picked lots of leaves with his mouth. Greedy came down and put leaves on the ground. "Here, friends. Let's eat together!" Elephant, Zebra, and Monkey were happy. They all ate the yummy leaves. Munch, munch, munch! The animals smiled as they ate. Greedy learned that sharing is fun. From that day on, he always shared with his friends.
